The wife and I spent the evening at a friend’s house last weekend. It was an interesting mix of board games and alcohol that I won’t forget for awhile. It’s amazing how silly some games can get when people are drinking.
The highlight of the evening for me, though, was checking out a newly remodeled den. It had almost an explorer theme, if that makes sense. There was a display cabinet full of antique orienteering gear and a nice antique wooden globe. The walls were decorated with what he called “lake art“. This is basically topographical maps of lakes and waterways that were made of wood and carved in exquisite detail. They were the highlight of the room in my opinion.
Since we had such a great time, we’ll be hosting a similar event at our house in a few weeks. We don’t have a newly decorated room to show off but I think we can manage some good clean fun.
